After months of anticipation, the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro are now available. Xiaomi introduced its new premium phones in China with all of the promised features, including Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, 120Hz AMOLED display, and MIUI 13 based on Android 12. The phones will set the standard for flagship Android smartphones in 2022 as a result of this.
That, though, will be primarily dependent on the phones’ global release. For the time being, the new Xiaomi phones will only be available in China, but we anticipate them to sell internationally, just like they did last year. When will it happen, and at what cost? These are the questions we’ll consider here.
Xiaomi 12 Pro Specifications
First, a little background on the phones. The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro have been eagerly anticipated by smartphone fans, and rightfully so, since they will be the first premium smartphones to be released this year (never mind the date here). As a result, the phones have all of the most cutting-edge technology currently available in the smartphone market. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, 6.28-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, triple-lens camera configuration with 50-megapixel sensor, and more. Other than the specifications, we also know the retail price of the phones now. So, based on the China prices and our experience of the Mi 11 series launched last year, we can make some guesses about the Indian prices of Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro as and when they come to India.
Xiaomi 12 Pro Price in India
The Xiaomi 12 was introduced in China at CNY 3699 (about Rs 43,000) for the base model. This is a little cheaper pricing than the Mi 11’s basic model, which retailed for CNY 3,999. (approx Rs 45,000). If the phone does make it to India, it will very probably not be in this pricing range.
The Xiaomi 12 is expect to cost between Rs 55,000 and Rs 60,000 for the basic model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The highest option with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage space might cost between Rs 65,000 and Rs 70,000.
Similarly, the Xiaomi 12 Pro, which costs CNY 4999 (about Rs 58,600) and comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, is expect to cost slightly over Rs 72,000 in India when it launches. This will very certainly put it up against Samsung’s future Galaxy S22 series as well as the OnePlus 10 series. The highest model, with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, may cost up to Rs 80,000.
Xiaomi 12 Pro India Launch Date
It’s worth noting that there’s a potential Xiaomi won’t launch the phones in India as it did last year, instead focusing on the top-of-the-line Xiaomi 12 Ultra. However, this should not be the case because China is one of Xiaomi’s main markets, and last year was a nightmare for manufacturing processes, from which several OEMs have recovered.
With that in mind, we may anticipate the phones’ arrival in India in March. That’s also when OnePlus is expect to unveil its OnePlus 10 series all across the world. Though the release date is significantly later than the Mi 11 series’ worldwide launch. Xiaomi has always preferred a March launch date for its major smartphones in India.
